Although there have been lots of things going on, we haven’t been able to update our site due to some server-end glitches. They have been resolved for the moment. Such are the joys of technology!
We have heard back from many folks about the success of gifting our HYPER-LOCAL RAW honey! Wahoo for awesome Christmas gifts! It’s so much fun to introduce new folks to authentic honey! (No, it doesn’t come from a bear.) It really is an amazing gift for most occasions!
We never lost power from the wind storm, but we did have some lids blow off some hives! Nine hives that had candy boards installed late season had their lids blown right off in the gusts of wind. Thankfully, they are all alive! Went scrambling around to find whatever I could to put on top to prevent them from coming off again. Will definitely plan on strapping them all in the future.
So far these hives are all alive. I need to build some candy boards and visit some of the remote yards. Oh, and get building and assembling more gear.
This winter has been too warm. There have been plenty of 42 degree plus days with bees flying. As long as these hives have enough food, they should be good until spring. Oxcalic treatments knocked down mite loads tremendously.
We are working hard to prepare for the 2021 season!
